Brighton Pier has been a popular subject in this contest, and I can see why. The contrast between the dark, angular pier and the flowing pastels of the water demands attention. This one particularly stood out because of the gorgeous sky and the way that thr colours are arranged in horizontal stripes.
This image caught my eye because of how it juxtaposes classical sculpture with the slightly ridiculous. There's something noble and tragic about the statue's expression, but at the same time it looks like it has a googly eye. The angle is excellent, showing the damage to the statue, while also evoking a zombie movie.

Please enter your best photos of something that was intended to be beautiful or impressive, but is now past its best. The aim is to show the decline of objects that were once significant, rather than worn-out everyday items. People or animals may feature in the image, but should not be the main subject. Photos can be in colour or black and white.
