A very strong abstract using a rather mundane theme of a pile of chains, but what you have produced has a beauty to it that is quite mesmerizing. Congrats on your top 10 spot.

Congratulations on my fourth choice. A very appealing floral abstract with the Dahlia petals creating a soft, feather-like pattern. The central dark flower shape leads one's eye outwards to a burst of cheery colour.

A rural scene which I find very appealing with a water-colour sky, pastures and distant trees and buildings framing the central green square. Thank you for submitting a lovely interpretation to the theme.

A dramatic interpretation to the brief. Certainly an architectural abstract of the 21st Century. My eye is drawn into the X and then outwards, stepping over the yellow "tubes" and into the city surrounds. Congrats on a top 10 spot.

I almost felt like the bees were buzzing and the fragrance was causing my husband "hay-fever" when viewing this image. Thank you for submitting a joyful entry full of colour, pollen and probably full of "sneezes"....but also one of my top 10 choices.

Being unfamiliar with the Rotterdam Cube-houses, I had to view them myself online. I think you have created a magical but also powerful image with a terrific POV which certainly captures Piet Blom's architectural concept of "living as an urban roof." Congrats.

The quality of images submitted to this competition were impressive, so thank you to all who entered. Thanks too to those that tried this effect for the first time. Being the "judge" I also had to be critical. So my "critical" comment is that many did not quite follow the brief. The brief being 4 elements: flip, mirror, rotate and create an abstract.

My number ONE choice has entered an Eagle. It captures the theme so beautifully with texture and a feeling of flight. The outer shapes could almost be viewed as delicate "paper darts" being propelled into the central circle. Congratulations on an intriguing and compelling abstract image.

For this theme I would like to see one of your own images given a "make-over" by flipping, mirroring and rotating the image and creating an interesting abstract. There are tutorials for this that you can view. You can submit in Colour or Black & White but only use your own, single image to create this abstract.
