Friendship

What I was looking for most in an image that wants to say something about friendship is a photograph that captures a genuine connection between people. This can be a very evocative moment, as in the case of this image - a wonderfully wishful, almost romantic depiction of that special uninhibited bonding you get between young people on a summers day, oblivious of anything but themselves, living in the moment. A nicely composed image with a tight circle of heads in the middle of the frame, bathed in light that bounces off the water around them. The girl throwing her head back as she laughs, catching the sun's light adds to an already beautiful picture. A worthy winner. congratulations!.

Some images are memorable because a particular visual element to the photograph is so strong in them. In this case it's the wonderful light that bathes the whole frame. The silhouettes of the girl pushing her friend/brother sitting on the swing in the amber evening light makes it so evocative. A lovely photograph..

Wow! what an amazing sky - so dramatic!.. It looks like two people witnessing the oncoming apocalypse.. A brilliant landscape photograph very well composed, with great lighting. But for an image that wants to depict friendship,, with two people relating to each other, a suggestion would be to go closer to the subjects in the landscape to make them more of a feature in the picture.; perhaps having them enveloped by the storm cloud.whilst they look at each other or it. A great photograph none-the-less.

A strong image that shows the tender side of friendship. Two people not afraid to show the intimacy of their relationship, in this case a brother and sister?...The girl's vulnerable looking pose, nestles underneath the boy's protective embrace.. He gazes thoughtful away from the camera, whilst she looks into and right through the photographer's lens. A wonderful, moving portrait of friendship..

A wonderful montage of faces, action, light and Colour!. You can almost feel like you are in amongst the mayhem. What makes this picture is the cloud of vivid green bursting around the head of the subject in the centre of the frame. The half-lit faces and blues and pinks and reds dotted all around the photograph add to it's sophistication. A group of young boys immersing themselves in the excitement of friendship. A great image.

A dynamic busy image that's full of life. I like this photograph a lot because it shows two separate displays of friendship between two sets of people within the same moment. In the foreground a tender quieter embrace between friends, but behind them the boy who looks like he has just scored wheels away in triumph, arms raised whilst his friend runs towards him also with arms raised in exaggerated movement.. You feel a bit sorry for the girl on her own in the background!. A very interesting shot that also has a bit of a narrative running through it. well done.

A wonderfully striking image taken from an unusual angle - it must have been quite precarious for the photographer!. It brilliantly captures the pure joy that defines friendship, especially when you are young and carefree like this bunch of boys. The arrangement of their heads and the fact that they are all smiling, makes this a memorable image. well done!.
