Garden Wildlife (in colour)

"Freddie Resting" is a beautiful image and perfectly fits the theme of Garden Wildlife. Freddie is a frequent visitor to this lovely garden and seems perfectly comfortable there, and although wary of humans, she seems to pose for her photo. She is the subject of the image and the eye is immediately drawn to her, while taking in all the colour and textures of the well tended garden.

This elegant damsel fly is perfectly captured, resting on a drooping fern. The composition highlights the insect against the soft green leaves and background. Its colours pop and contrast and complement the scene. Lovely image, and congratulations on your Top 10 in Garden Wildlife!

This stunning image is beautifully composed along with a soft and complementary colour palette. The thrush is almost posing for the photographer and is nicely framed by the branches. Once I saw this, it stayed with me throughout the judging so congratulations on your Top 10 in Garden Wildlife!

Ladybugs are surprisingly difficult to photograph, as they are almost constantly on the move, looking for a meal. I love this one, with the insect captured on a blade of grass so it contrasts with the varied greens in the image. The bokeh in the background along with the shallow depth of field give a lovely soft touch to the image. Congratulations on your Top 10 in Garden Wildlife!
