Quite often in photography less is more and this picture proves this. This is a great capture of commercial glasshouses with a good balanced composition and nicely contrasting colours. The angle at which the picture was taken adds as well. A great minimalist approach.

This is one of the most atmospheric pictures of glasshouses submitted in the contest. I love how this photo brings together the shapes of the glasshouse, clouds and trees supplemented by the roof shadows. Showing glasshouses effectively in black and white can be tricky. It has been done very well in this case.

This great picture really stood out for me from other ones showing whole glasshouses in their environment. I love the brightness and freshness of the image. It really invites you to go and explore the building closer, like the couple at the door.

I love the sense of mystery which this picture brings. The branches and light reflections on the glass help obscure our view and we can only distinguish vague shapes of the exotic world that waits inside. Let's hope this glasshouse will survive for many more photographers to enjoy.

This photographer did a great job capturing the lightshow around what is probably the most famous glasshouse in the world. The blue and red colours are contrasting nicely and the reflection in the pond is a brilliant bonus. Well done.

This picture stood out through the combination of several key elements: the brilliant blue and gold colours, the matching of the roof pattern with that of the fern leaves, the shadow of the structure at the top and the contrast between light and dark areas. The composition, with the middle of the roof being off-centre, is also great. Very good work.

You cannot get much simpler than showing a glasshouse roof in black and white but this can be difficult to achieve properly. This is a great minimalist approach to the subject with a perfect view to the middle of the top of the roof. Very different but very nice.

A glasshouse picture with a difference. The way in which the shadow of the bush outside blends in with the shape of the pelargoniums shining through the whitened glass is very well captured. The image also gives you a nice "sneak peak" feeling and the colourful flowers contrast nicely with the white windows.

A minimalist view of a glasshouse roof which is beautiful not only because of the shape of the structure but very much also by the light fall on it. This light versus dark effect has been very well captured and made this picture stand out for me.

Buildings made of glass give the photographer plenty of opportunities for great shots. Glasshouses or greenhouses are no exception. Whether you capture the architectural beauty of glasshouse designs in botanic gardens, focus on modern horticultural buildings or snap the small greenhouse at the bottom of the garden doesn't matter, as long as you show some artistry. Please focus on the buildings and not the plants or animals inside.

Although this picture is a composition, it has been very well done and looks natural. The combination of colours in the moon and glasshouse is great. The silhouettes of the trees add to a great composition and a beautiful picture.
