Gothic

There are many aspects that stood out to me. Firstly the setting, I love the abandoned creepy feel to it and the lighting creating dark shadows against the wall just adds to that. Also the pose of the leg copies the lean of the sticks in the background which is pleasing to the eye. Well done for being my 2nd place.

This image just screams gothic to me. It totally reminds me of a haunted house or something a gothic family would live in. The fact you have put it in black and white just adds to this and shooting through the tree's frames the house so well. Congrats for being my first place winner.

I love how creepy this image is. The fact the girls hair covers her face really adds a spooky feel. The smoke in the background is also a great touch. It feels like it is straight out of a horror film. Well done for catching my eye and getting into my top 10.

This image may not be overly obvious as a gothic image to some people, and Gothic does not always need to be over the top with tons of black and dark scary things in it. So to me, this has such a natural and simplistic gothic look to it. Its a beautiful image. There is just the right amount of black in her outfit and makeup on her face and the lantern is a nice touch with its warm glow. The image I kept coming back to and looking at, so it just had to be in my top 10. Well done.

This was so close to being in my top 10, instead it was the top of my Highly Commended. The thing I love the most about this image, is the highlights on the tops of some of the graves, also some of the graves in shadow and some not, really gives some depth to this photo. Well done on a great gothic image.
