This is a wonderful image because in this case, the hostile design is so subtle and common that you might not even notice, but setting it in the centre illustrates it perfectly. The timing of the capture,.with the branches reaching down from the top as though to join in blocking the path is excellent, and the colours are beautiful too!
I loved this photo immediately! The juxtaposition between the barbed wire, and what that means, and the beautiful flowers makes this a brilliant capture. As an entry to this contest, it also shows a good understanding of the brief, because 'hostile' in this case doesn't just mean ugly, and this is a perfect example of that.

Show me your best photographs of public spaces featuring what is known as hostile urban design or hostile architecture. This is a deliberate design strategy that purposefully includes elements to guide or restrict people's behaviour in public spaces. It often targets people who use or rely on public space more than others, such as young, poor or homeless people, by restricting the physical behaviours they can engage in. Examples include a bench having multiple armrests across it to prevent someone from lying down and sleeping, or land under a bridge having large spikes to prevent people from sheltering below.
