Against the popular vote I know but this image conjures up memories of life as a child in the 70s.
Yes young people, we used to have loose leaf tea! Not your fancy tea bags with their many different shapes to ensure the best brew possible.
You would put tea from the caddy into the teapot, allow it to mash, and then pour the tea into a cup through a tea strainer. The skill then was to drink the tea and try to stop just before you got a mouthful of the tea leaves that had made their way into the bottom of the cup :)
Thank you for all your great photos and for making me feel quite young. Some of the entries show things that were in use way before my time - and I'm over 50 :)
In the end I chose personal things like this hovercraft. I had completely forgotten about these. I fondly remember a school trip involving crossing the English Channel on one of these magnificent machines. The Channel Tunnel obviously killed them off but in their day they would beat the ferries hands down for speed and excitement.

Again chosen for the memories that this invokes. I think it was my sister who had one of these wonders of their time.
Gone were the days of sending your film to the chemists to get it developed and then waiting a week until your photos were ready to collect and look at. If some photos hadn't worked very well there was no chance to capture that moment again.
Nowadays, these look like they belong in the stone ages with the rise of digital photography, image editing sand selfie taking.
In my day these were the things to have - the bigger the better and boy did some of them get big.
Imagine it, being able to walk around outside and listen to songs on cassette tapes and the radio.
These got even better with dual cassette decks where you could tape form one cassette to another (legally of course) - fantastic stuff :}

Many things have certainly changed since I was younger, especially with the development of modern technology. In this contest I am looking for photos of objects we use, or ways of doing things, that have changed within your lifetime. What has been introduced that makes your life easier? You can enter images showing either the old or the modern version, or both together if you wish. Please only enter photos showing old or new objects, no photos of people or places that may have changed over the years.
