Thank you Nenad for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your first place! I don't know who the “Follower” title refers to, in my opinion the shadow is the main subject, the person seems to follow the shadow. A very well composed image with the woman placed on the extreme left with all the space in front of her, in the direction of her movement. The white wall highlights the subjects, without disturbing elements. Its perfect diagonal creates further movement, while the hidden modern building balances the composition and adds mystery. An image that perfectly fit the theme proposed.
Thank you Ali for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your 3th place! This photo attracts me for its minimalism and the contrast between the two elements: the thin human figure with its shadow and the big round shape and its shadow. I think it's a well, a well in a desert urban landscape. A desert of square tiles, made more abstract by the b&w. An image with an original point of view from above, well composed with well-isolated subjects, without distracting elements.
Thank you Ann for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your 5th place! A mysterious image, it is not clear where it is set. There are no real people but only shadows of bottles, lamps, strange individuals. I am impressed by the shadow of the hand that seems to be pulling a rope with something hanging, the only real element of the scene. I like a lot this intriguing atmosphere.
Thank you Tim for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your 8th place! A well captured scene, a composition that fill the frame and with each item in its place. I love the warm colours and the elegant woman, stuck with an open step. Its shadow, pressed against the wall, has a different shape from that of the human subject.
Thank you Jackie for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your 7th place! A simple capture with a composition divided into two parts. A photo that tells a story, I’m thinking that they are a man and a woman. They come from a place with a grate (a prison?) and they have space in front of them, a way to go. However they are also divided by a dark stripe, this could show the incommunicability in the couple.
Thank you Ivan for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your second place! It is an image that strikes for the contrasts, both that of the very contrasted b&w and that of the very elegant subject, a young woman, perhaps a ballerina, against a rough background wall. Her shadow lives on its own life, does not follow the direction of the woman's movement, but seems to be turned towards the viewer, while the girl looks ahead. A simple but very effective capture.
Thank you Graeme for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your 4th place! I can’t be indifferent to this photo, it is a situation that I am constantly searching for when I am on the street and I have the camera set on M in order to easily obtain this result: a person with a bright outline, his shadow and everything else in the dark. The composition according to the diagonal is very effective, with the fence and the light/shadow border that are parallel. The shadow has a life of its own: it is placed on the opposite diagonal to that on which the woman is moving. A searched and very fine capture.

Thank you for joining my “Human Shadows” contest and congratulations on your 9th place! In my contest have been uploaded some photos of skaters and their shadows cast on the road. I chose this b&w that shows only the feet of the jumping person, the skateboard that flies vertically and a shadow full of dynamism. More than seeing, one imagines. Only I would like to view a more contrasted b&w.
