I love a good mono architecture shot and this was one of the best entered into this competition. The fog / mist really helps to isolate this magnificent structure as it disappears softly into the distance. My only issue with the image is the slight haloing on the building, if this wasn't so apparent it would of definitely been in my top 5.

A very clever and different take on London's iconic Gherkin building. The Gherkin is one of those locations that must be shot hundreds of times every week and it's difficult to get a unique take on such a popular location, but this image manages to pull it off! A great image that really stood out from other London shots.
This is an image that caught my eye when judging as I'd never seen this composition of the Shard before. I love the angles the bridge and walkway which create a perfect shape to fit the shard. Unfortunately I found the processing to let the image down slightly, but with a few tweaks it could of easily made the top 10.

Some architecture is instantly recognisable, either for its place in popular culture or for its sheer originality. The Gothic spires of Barcelona's Basilica or the enormous suspended wires of the Golden Gate Bridge – these constructions are familiar, even to those who have never visited them. 'Iconic architecture' is the theme for this contest.
