There are so many things to compliment in this photo. I would argue its taken from the perfect point of view to take advantage of all that contrast and changes in the sunlight. It gives lots of texture to the image to the point that its almost tactile. I'm almost certain I know what sound it would make if I were to drag my hand down the wrapping of the bales. Lovely uniform shape for the brief with the added random, but pleasing, resting shapes as they have settled.

Adore this subtly changing palette of colours from the greens as they pass through the reds and oranges, all the way out to the blues. The eyes could roll around this photo for ages, and the bigger the print the better! The fact that the tins exit the frame imply to me a sense of huge scale - too big to contain. I like using this technique with motion picture to convey size. works great here. Very pretty.

I'm pretty sure this is a textbook example of what was asked for in the brief. It has a German like attention to aesthetic and detail. I love that the subtle changes in light and colour shading give a confusing (but pleasing) effect on depth perception. A beautiful puzzle of an image to get lost in for a while.

Couldn't really ask for more with this shot. So clean, and the colour pallet is soft and contemporary. If the wind had been a knot less the reflection may have been mirror-like, not that the image needs it. If anything you could argue it gives a dreamlike dimensional alternative. On brief, well executed. Wondering if the absence of a horizon is real or composite. Doesn't matter too much either way.

This had the potential to be my favourite image of the whole ranked contest. It is stunning. As a natural history photographer, there's a lot I can choose to see here that leads toward visual story telling. A forest of organisms slowly moving in the mist. Lost creatures fossilised in undiscovered rock. Or a creative play on documentary. The angle and frame are perfect. The only let down is the resolution and slightly off-focussing. Overly cropped perhaps? Still full of wonder and gorgeous. Love it.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** In this age of mass production, there are lots of things that are identical in the world. And nature itself doesn’t like to reinvent the wheel all the time either, so similarity abounds there as well. We’re not going to take the word ‘identical’ too literally - there may be small differences between the things you’ve shot, and that could add extra interest to your image.
