Quite a few submissions interpreted the theme by relying on a landscape for an outdoor background, but in most cases it was incidental. Your background 'story' complements the interior story in theme, colour and interest. Innovative angle adds dynamism to the image - and a tension [or dizziness!]. Technically good -sharp despite the high ISO and the processed 'art' look works for this image. Thank you for submitting this visually exciting photograph!
The foreground driver, and the yellow window-sill of his cab draw me into a matched colour palette, depicting a vibrant story both within the cab and out on the street. Arresting layers of composition [driver - wheel - dash - screen - street] linked with leading lines of yellow and a man (centrally framed) walking the lines...with the windscreen framing the whole outside story. A compositional masterpiece. Fantastic exposure and control of depth. The slight-grain process matches the old-wordly scene. Well done for not wasting the opportunity in a traffic jam.
Meet the judge
Thank you for submitting this arresting image. Your theme was very popular in this competition - the inside of a shop through the glass frontage - yours was the best of the bunch! Strong stories inside, with each separately framed by the windows, and an intersting subject outside who is frmed by the third window. Excellent composition, colour processing and contrast. Brill!
No doubt in my mind that this art submission fits the brief in an abstract sense, and that it is conceptually original, effective and technically sound. The composotion layering raises the question of 'what is further inside' and commands attention. Framing excellent. Definitely the right choice to go B & W. Thank you for being imaginative enough to submit to this theme.

Please submit a photo which includes detail of both the inside and outside of any building, structure or object. Your image will expose and focus on detail both within and without. What's the story on the inside? What's the story on the outside? For example, the story of both a shop front and the story of what is happening inside the shop. The rest is up to you, but judging will be biased towards images which do not look too heavily processed.
