This is beautiful shot and I think you have framed it perfectly with the overhang of the other building.

I would just have liked a little more crop on the bottom of the image to get more foreground to really make the image.

There's so much atmosphere in this image which is what attracted me to it over the other shots.

You can really feel the fog and the cold creeping in through this shot which is the sign of a fantastic shot.

Something really attracts me to the mundane nature of this shot.

I think a lot of photographers like to collect slightly boring things and this shows a little glimpse into the life of a photographer where other people perhaps wouldn't notice little details like this.

Great series.

This is a beautiful image and it reminds me of the work of Danila Tkachenko which I was lucky enough to see a few years ago.

It's wonderfully composed and the exposure is great for bringing the sky and the foreground into the shot.

I really like your take on the brief with this image.

It ticks all the boxes while also bringing in more modern techniques to create an attractive image.

I would just like a little more contrast to bring out the building to really make it pop.

There's something really simple about this image which is what attracts me to it.

I really like the almost mundane nature to the shot and it's a great homage to the brief.

Your treatment of the photograph is great and brings out all the texture.

A really nice series of images which I did want to put in my top 10 but I think the beige background just holds it back a little for the brief.

If it was on pure white with no borders I would have had this in my top 10 without thinking.

I think this is a great series of images and it hovered around my top 10 for a while, the only reason it didn't make it is I think it would pop a lot more on a pure white background and all the images have a slightly different border and crop which confuses the eye a little.

The only aerial image in the competition and although the technology wasn't available at the time I think it really fits the brief!

It's a fantastic viewpoint for these towers which many people won't see and it's great to see all the graffiti from above.

This is a fantastic collection of images which perfectly fits the brief.

The treatment and grading of each image is great and I like the different lighting conditions in each image.

Your arrangement and attention to detail in laying them all out shows and I would love to see an expanded version of this in an exhibition.

Congratulations on a great collection of images.

I think this is a great little collection of images which captures the brief perfectly and also shows how much can be found in such a simple object.

The colours are fantastic and your layout is great, it really frames each individual image.

This is a great series and I think your treatment and exposure choices on these are fantastic.

Your handling of the various tones of whites and greys in the image is great and each image pops exactly where it should.

Something really draws me to the simple composition of this image, there's something almost religious about it which is a great reflection on what humans now hold important.

The colours are great and your treatment of the image is perfect for the scene.

A late addition to my top 10 but this really encapsulates the brief and is a perfect addition to the competition

Each image is crisp and really well exposed bringing out all the texture of the buildings.

Would love to see this series expanded as the variety is so different from other parts of the world.

Before entering this contest please read this Tate article. Bernd and Hilla Becher make a fascinating choice for our ‘Inspired by’ series. For 40 years they documented disappearing industrial architecture, in a documentary and consistent style - in black and white, with no people, and often presenting different examples of the same type of structure in a grid format. This contest invites you to use their work as inspiration, but submitted images do not have to strictly conform to the ways in which the Bechers worked, so could for example be in colour not black and white.
