Show the judge some love...

Great contest!

I regularly judge children and their ponies/horses at horse show and usually manage to avoid the cute factor and keep my eye on their skills. Well this child is just adorable and so cute but I happen to love the style, style and execution of the shot too. The apple is well chosen for its colour contrast and the outfit is very fitting for the style. This is a real delight and I am sure the parents were most pleased with this precious shot. Really well done - love it.

I am always drawn to a redheaded model in an image, the often white skin tones and freckles adds depth and character to the photograph. With this I want to know about the the building behind, why is he there and what is going on with that jumper? I am a fan of the Vogue style of photography and this model is the kind I would expect to see. I love the colour palette here which is slightly desaturated and a little bleak, which appeals to me. Great shot.

This is something I would expect to see in an exhibition. It is sparse in its context whilst being very pronounced in its storyline. I find the title intriguing 'Touting in past' but I fall short of a good explanation. Perhaps this is an old image of someone when they were younger, maybe the shorts can date this to a time in the 70's who knows. Not sure he will catch much in that water......

This I love. I so want to find out the real story here and not just allow myself several fables of my own. What gets me is the sharpness to the eyes and that look which really digs deep into your soul to connect. The depth of field is just right of the headless bodies filling the background. I would be tempted to slightly crop closer in from the left as I feel with his arm up it weights the right hand side slightly. Do tell us the story behind this I am intrigued! Great shot well done.

A brilliant shot that everyone would have be proud of capturing. The shot is well balanced as it falls in line with the rule of thirds. I particularly like the exposed belly button it adds a real comedy touch to the already humorous snapshot. Well done a worthy top ten place for this.

Sometimes there can be too many distractions in an image but here I believe it enriches the photograph. The various little gems tucked away on shelves tells the story of who lives here. I am guessing that this isn't the gentleman in the photographs room but perhaps his mother, who has kind of stood still in time along with her kitchen. This makes for a fantastic insight into living conditions of the past, a real visual feast for the viewer. The guy meets the criteria for the brief and adds depth to a great image.
