Lamps and Lanterns

Thankyou for your entry in my contest. I really like this image of various lanterns, it is quite different. The shimmer you have captured in the reflections on the tent gives a rather ethereal over-all effect, adding a bit of the mystical to the colourful mix. Well done

Thankyou for entering my contest. I thought this a clever idea to use this perspective of looking up the wall. An interesting capture. It feels nicely uncomplicated and I enjoyed studying the way the light connects and keeps creating shades and shadows. This is a is nicely quirky capture. Good work.

Congratulations on making my top ten. What a moment in time, a brilliant capture!. The chandelier cleaner looks like a shadow himself. The architectural lines of the building lead my eye to keep the glorious light front and center. I also thoroughly enjoy the contrasting pop of color in the led-lights below also seemingly pointing upward inviting me to examine the detail and filigree of the lantern.

Great work making it into my top ten in this contest. This is a very interesting photograph with its geometric shapes and architectural precision. It caught my attention as I took time to work out the puzzle like angles and stirred my imagination to wonder what the building might be like in its entirety and what it is used for. Its sharp clean lines are very pleasing. You have a good eye.

I thought this image was so interesting. The circular pattern and distinct era of design left me wanting to know more. There is such a sense of elegance and attention to detail. I have no idea how you managed to get that perspective but great job! It is a beautiful clear image.

Congratulations on first place in my contest. This capture is unique in the offerings and not at all what I thought I was looking for. Nonetheless the clarity of the "blossom-lanterns" in the foreground invited me to look again and again leading my eye to follow the dragon and explore the exotic image further. It is something outside my own culture and experience. The depth of field with the dragon-boat and the tower in the rear left me wondering was it a picture of an exhibit or on a river in real time? Either way you have done a brilliant job.

Great work making it into my top ten. I adore this picture of the beauty sitting among the beautiful lanterns. The tonal value in the image are very pleasing. Once captured by the beauty in the center I had no option but to stay and let my eye be led around the image to inspect the different patterns on the lanterns. Its as if they embrace the subject making for a very creative contribution, thankyou.

The simple color-tones and the sweep of texture are quite fascinating, with the light bringing the illusion of a magnifying glass. I was sorry not to include it in my top ten.
