Just love the simple, graphic, hard, composition here with a bit of whimsy mixed in. I think you're title is perfect as it's the exact narrative you've created here. Your eye's drawn to the stop sign first but then they roam and see all those stars! The mountian in the background is beautifully subtle too marrying up with the sign. And the streak of light all those people that just drive by and miss the glory of it all. A fantastic shot with a playful narrative.
An immensely pleasing colour array in the aurora captured here. With the tones subtly reflected in the landscape below. I love all the textures in the dirt track it really leads you eye into the frame. The composition is minamalist yet rich. The way the eye is lead through the image along the road but also with the tubines as they peel from right to left and into the background and then across again right in the distace is beautiful.
The mist in this really makes for a surreal feel. Combined with this really strong bi-chromatic colour it makes for a really incredible image. I love the composition too with the rocks surrounding the bridge. I love the long exosure effect on the water, creating another mist on the ground mimicing the sky. this lovely fuzzy texture abover and below the sharp lines of the main subject. Great work, well done.
A really stunning picutre here that takes you a minute to understand what's going on and Iove that. That sunny day feel but also hazy and slow, dreamlike. The black and white really gives it that Ansel Adams look, especailly as it's Yosemite too! There are so many layers of depth your eye can go on a real journey. I have a tiny technical suggestion in that you should edit the burn around the moon and it's reflection as it is a little distracting once you notice it. It's going to happen with an exposure like this so it's fair enough it's going to be there but it could be smoothed out and made more subtle. This is a small thing though and everything overall is amazing.
I think you really have captured the feeling of water with that slow shutter speed. One of the most abstract and innovative images I've seen in this competition. That flow shape is really beautiful and the striking line of light through the middle really grabs your attention. A very satifying picture to look at for a long time, great work.
I just loved the composition here. The way all the forms and shapes repeat throughout the depth of the image. The diagonal created by the different heights of the Aloes repeated in the roll of the hills behind and then the milkyway behind that. The red of the flowers really makes the shot too, complementing all the green of the landscape and the blue of the sky in a very satisfying triadic colour combination. fantastic work, well done.

I just love how the moonlight gives a really dreamy feel to this shot. There's something very rich about all the tones in the landscape and sky. The use of quite a wide aperture making this lovely vignette adding to the dreaminess is fantastic. And I actually like how subtle the stars are. Rather than have the impressive splodge of milky way it keeps a calmess about it.
i love the complexity of the industrial edifice, lots for your eye to get lost in. Great timing too getting the train in there. The high vantage point really plays with the scale too, making it almost toylike. Compositionally I like the angle but the hillside on the left feels a bit lost. I like the contrast but maybe there could have been a bit more to really show the contrast. Or perhaps focus in on the structures to make it really striking. These are minor tweaks though and this is still a stunning shot.
Of all the cityscapes I've seen in the competition this is the one that's made the top ten. There's something gloriously timeless about it, those warm tones in all the lights so retro. Also unreal, like I see this place in movies, animation, my imagination and dreams. This is a city, the city, at night. Loving that long lens effect of flattening the depth which I think adds to that unreality. I feel like I'm looking at a shot from Ghost in the Shell or Blade Runner, it's wonderful.

A genre of photography for the more intrepid landscape photographer who is happy to venture out into the night. Shooting landscapes under ambient moonlight, or artificial lighting from buildings, streetlamps or introduced sources can produce fascinating imagery. It reminds us that landscapes exist for 24 hours of the day, and using longer shutter speeds can create ethereal scenes not available to the naked eye.

The colours in this shot are beautiful. that purple glow is just delightful. And the soft contrast with the orange/yellow car lights really ties the shot together. That cloud is incredible too, cathing all the light. I would consider cropping out the bottom foregroud as it's a little distracting i find. Making it more about those amazing stars and lights. Really great shot regardless, well done.
I love this kind of symetry created here, with the Matterhorn placed in the centre with the milky way leading up from it. The use of wide angel plus placing the mountains more at the bottom of the frame showing this huge expanse of stars above is really effective. Love the tones from the dying light (or is it light pollution?) too. My one small critique is that clock face at the bottom is a little confusing as it's so dark around it feels a bit out of place and perhaps the image would be stronger if it was removed. A very small thing though and the image is still amazing despite it.
The parralel lines created throughout the depth of this image are really satisfying. It has an almost undersea fell with all the mist on the valley floor, it's really mesmerizing. I love the scale too, how small the city looks compared to the toweing mountains behind really makes you think about the enormity of nature.
