This is such a captivating and emotional picture. It sends a strong message that our love of luxury leather can come at a price. Not just a financial or environmental one, but a human one too. This photo makes you think twice about buying leather goods without knowing their provenance.

This photo has a simple subject matter but the picture captures the character of leather really well. I particularly like the way in which the shiny nature of the material is being highlighted together with the variation in texture of the different leather pieces of which the jeans are made up. It reminds us that leather is a natural product.

This is by far the best photo of leather-bound books submitted to the contest. I like the atmosphere created by the varying shades of brown and the rather down-to-earth style of the bindings and random placing. The shine of the leather is also very well captured.

This picture captures these well-loved boots so well. Of the many pictures of footwear submitted in this contest, this one stood out by really bringing out the character of the leather which contrasts so nicely with the multi-coloured laces. Well done.

No matter what status in society your leather goods may represent, in the end we're all human and should treat each other with tolerance, dignity and respect. If not, the consequences can be tragic.

This picture shows really well the role leather footwear plays in defining our personal image, and how we may change this depending on the situation. If only everyone expressed their true personality through their footwear like the guy at the front, the world would be so much more fun.
