Less is More

August 2023

I see you have posted this photo in both black and white and color. I like them both, but each carries different emotions. Which is probably obvious :D but in this case I like the color version a bit more. Those pastel colours give it such a softness. With the black and white version, I would maybe bring out the contrast a bit more :)

There is beauty in simplicity. That's what I would call this photo :) Indeed sometimes less is more and this photo reflects it beautifully. It's a wonderful detailed shot. It's fascinating to see a dragonfly wing up close like this. So thank you for this opportunity. really great work!

Incredible photo. I like that you decided to edit it in black and white, it definitely added to the overall feel of the photo. The only thing that bothers me a bit, is that it's not quite in focus on the climber. But then that's really a minor thing, it certainly doesn't spoil the overall feel of the photo. Great job, the photo meets the criteria of the less is more theme!

This photo is an example of the definition of less is more. The only distracting thing in this photo are the two "dots" - reflections of light. I would definitely delete them in post-processing to make the photo beautifully uniform. And the viewer can concentrate on the play of shadows and light without any distractions.

Simple and touching. I love the composition, I love the colours. I also really like how the circles of water flow draw the eye directly to the center of the photo. The photo definitely meets the criteria of the less is more theme.

Drone photos have their own special charm. And this photo is a beautiful example of that. The photo is beautifully subtle and eye-catching at the same time. I really like the straight lines, they have a calming effect on me. Great work.

This photograph is the epitome of less is more. The attention is beautifully guided through the lines towards the vehicle. And at the same time, one can enjoy the beautiful scenery. The colours are also complementary and subtle. Well done I love it!

I've seen a lot of pictures here, but this one stood out for its originality. I like the execution and the artistic version of the editing - the grain. I think this photo fits the theme perfectly - less is more.

I love, love, love this photo, but I think you already know that :D . It's beautiful and simple, without any distracting elements. I love the reflection effect, I love the colours and also the composition and all that negative space. Well done :).

This photo immediately caught my eye. It's like a game of hide and seek with a dragonfly. it's a really special and original photo. This photo is definitely simple and eye-catching at the same time. And it's perfect for the less is more theme.

A suitable motto for any Minimalists amongst us, and one specifically adopted by minimalist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to describe his aesthetic. The phrase is attributed to Chilon of Sparta and is a good one for us to explore photographically. Ask not what can be added to the frame, but what can be removed? All subjects are welcome.

Just perfect! it's simple, delicate and playful. Really beautiful execution. The colours complement each other perfectly. I really praise the originality and overall the whole design. This photo definitely meets the assignment of the theme less is more. Great job :)!

this is truly an extraordinary picture. There is such a calmness about it and it is even more accentuated by the expression of the bird - eyes closed. The only disturbing thing there is the second branch. I know you couldn't do much about it during the shoot, but maybe you could try to remove it in post-processing :) I think then the photo will have a lot more "breathing room" :). And that added space would fit perfectly with the less is more theme. But in any case, great job!

This photo is truly great, the only reason it didn't place higher is because the watermark on this photo looks more distracting than favourable. Next time maybe consider reducing the opacity on the watermark. Less is sometimes more :) I mean that in a good way :)

This photo is just so simply beautiful. Sometimes all it really takes is a little to make an impression. I like the combination of the dandelion seed and the water drops with the pink background. It supports that beautiful softness. If I could pick the 11 best photos, this one would definitely be in there! And if you're asking why I didn't choose it, it's because the resolution isn't the best :/
