An eye-catching capture of an interesting collection of multi-coloured mailboxes. Everything looks neatly aligned, which increases the success of the shot. We are close enough in to the boxes to appreciate the details, but far enough out for a good number of the boxes to be included, bringing an abstract feel to the shot. Colours are bold but not over-saturated. Congratulations on your winning image.

Not always a fan of editing effects, I like the diffused effect we have here, bringing a softness to the image. An interesting perspective, nicely framing the key features of the post box to describe the whole, with the patterned shaped top section and the all-important posting slot, along with information about collection times. Not to mention the wonderful "pillarbox red" of the main subject. The wide aperture has created a shallow depth of field to make the railings etc in the background less prominent, but they still add some context. Congratulations on your third place finish.

This image stood out for me as soon as I saw it and it was always going to be in my top ten placings. A straightforward composition, giving centre stage to the four postboxes, standing out from the attractive pale blue surround. I like that all the boxes are mostly different, which adds interest for the viewer. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

A typical scene in many cities around the world with this type of mailbox, where the boxes become semi-disguised as they get adorned with the same graffiti and stickers taking over the wall. I like the composition with the three boxes separated by the vertical pipes, and the bright sunlight and shadows bring a little cheer to what would otherwise be a rather dreary scene. Congratulations on your second place finish.

By placing the postbox centrally in the compositoon ensures it is a strong feature of the image. The inclusion of the bike is key to the success of the image, but it does not dominate the scene overall. Your choice of colour palette works well, with basically the soft blue and contrasting yellow, along with the white walls. I rather suspect either or both the bike and the door/window have had their colour adjusted to perfectly match, but it creates a nice effect and harmonises the street scene. Well done on your top ten placing.

In this contest I would like to see your photos of letterboxes and postboxes. They can be boxes used for either the sending or delivery of letters and mail. The postboxes can be in any setting and of any style, maybe traditional to your own country. The letterboxes can also be any type and in any location, such as on the front door of a house or a communal set of mailboxes in an apartment block. The postboxes and letterboxes should be the key focus of your image. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
