Like a Movie Scene

This is a highly staged theatrical photograph into which much thought and planning has gone into its creation through setting, costumes and storyline. The lighting is effective as is the mood it evokes. The expression on the models faces as well as their positioning is very good although I may have moved the camera to cover a little more of the left side of the room and less the right.

An extremely simple photograph on the face of it but allowing us to only focus on the girl has been well achieved. The lighting is good and it evokes a question as to what the girl is looking behind her for. It could be a still from some sort of drama/thriller. I possibly would have moved the girl slightly more to the left but that is purely a subjective thing.

Clearly could be a scene from a war movie and beautifully done and very realistic. One wonders if this is an actual shot from a war zone or military exercise or if it has been staged beautifully. The colour tones are excellent as is the effect caused by the smoke from the 'battle'.

There is definitely the feeling of watching a movie in this image. It reminds me somewhat of some cop movie from possibly the eighties. The lighting allows us to focus on the girl in the cab and makes us wonder what her feelings are. If this was a planned photograph I would possibly have had a more emotional expression on the girl's face

The first movie that pops into this image is that of 'Thelma and Louise'. It is enhanced by it's dimensions allowing us to clearly see the two women. The expressions on their faces are enigmatic and we wonder what thoughts are going on in their heads. The softness of the photograph helps create the atmosphere and the fact that the background is blurred gives us the feeling that the car is moving.

An extremely well taken image. The contrast between the dark clothing of the subject contrasts well against the edited softer bright surrounding pillars. The positioning of the figure is also good. An image that creates questions which is always good in a narrative picture.

An evocative photograph which creates a narrative and definitely a film noir type of image. I like the expression on the model's face as well as the lighting effect. One thing I would personally have done is have the woman's hand up higher and possibly pulling the slat of the blind down.

A very dramatic image which again like many in my top ten creates an atmosphere and makes us question what is going on. I love the lighting effects both of the land and the sky and the three figures are very well positioned as they trudge across what feels like an apocalyptic world.

A very cleverly put together image using something like photoshop. I like the fact the background is blurred and softer than the image of the face. I love the expression on the model and the way she is looking up. Her 'robotic' disfigurement has been very cleverly done. Clearly the scene from some science fiction blockbuster. The only thing I personally would have changed is not to have the bit of burning material at the foot of her neck.
