Great contest!

This image invites the viewer in to me it leaves me wondering what was being asked of the centurion, was it "you want to command them ? ok take this !"

It's good to see a mix of individuals and types in this shot, not every early roman wore a lorica segmentata.

Nice balanced use of colour and lines that make up this image. well done

Whilst this image does not meet the brief of this competition, (fantasy armour used) I felt that I should comment further as I do like the photo.

This is a really good capture showing the movement, colours and feeling of the event, as an image it is only let down by the obvious post production cloning that still remains on the left side.

Reenactor pose #1 "Look over there"

Also fun to point into distance to see if public will stop and look as well

A nicely put together image, blending the subjects, situation and colour nicely bringing a well deserved top 10 place.

I was extremely happy to see an image showing everyday life rather than just soldiers tanks etc. It seems unfortunately that the autofocus of the camera has selected the bush on the right as it's main point rather than either the sign, the man or the bomb.
(copper bracelet and modern glasses aside)

I've been involved in different periods of battle reenactment, from Late Roman, to Viking, now taking part in a 15th Century Wars of the Roses group. Over the past few years I've enjoyed taking photos at various events. With 2018's season starting soon, show us your best photos from events you have attended. Try and add details about which event it was and where. No Fantasy / LARP / Cosplay / inauthenticity. No subjects mixing 21st century with historical (no modern glasses or cans of coke etc).

In a competition category that always sees the fighters/soldiers/weapons of war take the majority of entries, it was good to see a few such as this make it through. I would have liked to have seen more of the background of the scene.

Not everything in reenactment is about guns, swords and big noisy things. This photo goes to show the other side.

The image has been nicely composed to give the viewer a well balanced image.
