Meals of Fish or Seafood

Congratulations on achieving 2nd place in my competition. Very well deserved for capturing such an appealing flat lay image. There were some great photos of meals of oysters, but your photo is my personal favourite for several reasons. I really like your choice of framing and positioning of the classic accompaniments for eating oysters. In my opinion, the lighting is ideal and shows off the detail of each element perfectly. I really appreciate the creativity and imagination that has gone into the composition of the image. In particular, I am impressed with the way you have lit the scene against a black background. First of all, many congratulations on being the 1st place winner in my competition. Your still life photo captured my attention from the start. Initially, it was the clever lighting and dark shadows in the background that appealed to me. Looking deeper into the photo, it tells a wonderful story of the ingredients and preparation of the fish meal for cooking. I really appreciate the creativity and time that has gone into the composition of the image. For me, each element compliments the other items and they are arranged perfectly. Very well done on achieving 5th place in my competition. Your photo stood out to me for several reasons. Firstly, I really like the minimalist approach to the brief. Although the photo content is simple, you have created a lot of interest by capturing the detail and textures of food, metal and wood. Very well done on achieving 4th place in my competition. When considering my judging, if a photo was of a finished dish, I hoped it would make me really want to enjoy it. In my opinion, your image hits that concept perfectly. I particularly like the rustic feel created by the earthen dish against the wooden table. The sunlight on the seafood makes every detail pop and, for me, creates a wonderful atmosphere of summer, al fresco dining. Great photo. Thank you for entering.
