Thank you Benjamin for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 6th place! A very simple minimalism, played on the fleeting presence of two people crossing the street. The lines of the zebra crossing are hypnotic. Using the telephoto lens at full aperture compresses lines and reduces focus.
Thank you Vladimir for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 10th place! An extremely graphic black and white, without gray tones, the presence of large negative space highlights the minimalism of this street photography that shows the silhouettes of a couple who is relaxing on a public bench. I see that it is set on the edge of the historic center of Dubrovnik and I think they are admiring the port. The inclination of the road creates dynamism to the scene, indeed it seems that the bench is about to slide away from the frame…
Thank you Luis for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 3th place! Bright, sunny minimalist image. A wasted paved space, interrupted by steps, with the bridge appearing in the background. There are only two people in silhouette in the center of the frame, lost in this modern immensity.
Thank you Vygintas for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 9th place! I am struck by the elements of this composition. They are mundane: in the background, a plastic cloth that hides the scaffolding, two bare trees on the sides of the frame and an elderly person walking alone. A common city scene, but well seen and composed.
Thank you Frank for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 5th place! The minimalism of this street photography is very striking. The shot isolated the texture of the fence and, where the human figure is, the texture changes design. A well-seen capture, which gives space to the imagination and tells a story with a few minimal touches.
Thank you Dave for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 7th place! I don't see the dog of the title, but you can imagine him pulling his master, a tiny human silhouette, that led him for a walk. A minimalist street emphasized by the panoramic cut that highlights the double row of lampposts that gives the scene an urban connotation.
Thank you for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your second place! An attractive minimalist composition, with a black ribbon that crosses the frame diagonally, suggesting that it contains a staircase, a fine graphic black and white. The title speaks of "meeting", but it is a meeting on two different levels: the woman in the foreground is sharp, the man further away is blurry. A meeting that does not happen, two people who go about their business. An image that is talking about incommunicability in contemporary cities.
Thank you Bogdan for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your first place! This composition struck me at first glance, it was a surprise, something different from what I expected for the theme of this contest. On a neutral background, a light pavement drawn by the texture, two elements stand out arranged on the diagonal. Each of them tells something. The round mirror emerges forcefully from the bottom corner and it is positioned in the center of the composition. Inside, it brings us the life that happens outside the frame, the people and the houses. The person quickly leaves the scene, dressed in comfortable jeans and a fluttering scarf. An intelligent minimalism, such an original and effective image.
Thank you for joining my “Minimalism in street photography” contest and congratulations on your 4th place! A minimalist urban image dominated by the green of the checked background. It is enlivened by two passers-by in silhouette, overlooked by the red sign of the shop. An excellent use of complementary colours and negative space.
