This image is the very definition of simplicity: it’s literally nothing more than sheets of paper and sunlight. As with so many great photographs, though, the magic takes place in the 12 inches behind the camera.
A fantastic abstract photograph, its power lies in the slices of white that punctuate the blackness, producing beautiful soft tones as the light falls off from white to grey into the inky abyss in the middle of each paper sheet.

Classic cars, crumbling architecture and bright skies – all signatures of Havana, Cuba. However, where most people would capture that Cuban colour and vibrancy, Tagliarino has used black and white to create a striking scene. The composition, leading lines and timing to capture the passing car are all spot-on.
This came so close to being a winning shot, but falls ever so slightly short. Ideally it would have captured the moment that the seeds were dispersed in a cloud by the young girl blowing, but as it stands there is one lone seed just about to take flight.
In this case we would suggest cloning out the seed, to make it more of a "moment before the moment" anticipation shot. The lighting and composition are otherwise very effective and striking – a quick bit of editing would make it a more effective moment!
