For me this a great image where the photographer has carefully positioned themself at just the right position to capture the mooring ropes just right to lead the viewer to the boat which in turn leads to scene behind below the clouds.the stonework in the foreground perfectly frames the scene and for me this image is well deserving of my first place, very well done.
I like the feel of this image as the photographer has lined up his or her camera to frame the boats perfectly, the reflection is captured perfectly and I feel the conversion to b&w was carried out beautifully. As soon as you look at the image your immediately drawn to the little boats ,then you can send your eyes around the image to see the waters edge and dead wood sticking out in the shallows. Super shot and well done on 3rd place.

I love the overall appeal of this image, the sky sweeping forward across a snow capped mountain and hills reflecting in the water make a great backdrop and adds interest to an image with just a few little boats resting on calm waters in centre of shot. I think the angle of shot works very well. My only critique is the reeds left of shot, they just took out the cleanliness of the reflection in that section ,otherwise I may have judged this image higher, but that is only my opinion, never the less I love your conversion to b&w so well done on your place in my top ten.

For this challenge I would like you to look for moored boats (not ships) moored on the river, lake or harbour. Please don't enter any wrecks, only small boats in everyday use, it can be a single boat or a few boats but all must be moored, I would prefer no people in the shot. Try to think of the angle of your shot, the position of the mooring rope, the background view and the thing that can make your image of boat/boats interesting, as always I require a title and a description, untitled images will be passed by, please remember this is black and white only challenge, good luck!

There is something very pleasing about this image which for me is a pleasure to view ,the simplicity of the shot caught my eye early on with the two boats brightly lit to the left of shot and the open space to the right where when ready the boats could sail into, the rolling fog in the background adds a little drama to the scene so for me it's an image of two halves, it's not always a crowded image that appeals so very well done on 2nd place.
It's so nice to see an abstract in this challenge and very brave of the photographer to take a chance, it gives the feel of a night time image with just enough light to illuminate the masts so they reflect in the water. The ballance is well constructed as is the b&w conversion so well done on a lovely image deserving of a commendation.
I chose this image for my top ten as for me the b&w conversion was really well executed, the reflection is perfect and the whole image has a tidiness about it which is an image I didn't expect when setting this challenge. Your framing is very well executed and it's an image I could see in an office setting so very well done.
