I love how you have chosen to single out just a part of the bench to focus on what would normally go unseen. The lichen looks like it truly belongs there. Very crisp detail and a lovely shallow depth of field really enhances your main subject. A great image deserving a place in the top ten. Congratulations on judge 3rd place.
Firstly, thankyou for all the wonderful entries in this contest.
This image is indeed quite magical. Literally a sea of green moss coating the trees and totally fitting the brief. This would certainly be a place that I should like to visit. Very nicely shot and considering its a forest ,very well lit. Congratulations on judge 1st for your truly magical image and thankyou for entering.

I would love to see your colour photos of moss and/or lichen. Moss and lichen can be shown on trees, brickwork, pathways etc. Mosses are plants that produce spores and have stems and leaves but do not have true roots. Lichens have a symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, fungus and algae. Please enter colour photos only. I look forward to seeing your photos of moss and lichen.
