Great angle here showing off the fish in a unique way with the water surface in view. This looks very dramatic to me like a feeding frenzy. The sharp water caustics on the pair of fish in the front is really nice and adds to the drama. Also, great clarity even with so many fish. Nice work!

This is a great shot. I really like the way you framed this anemone, it makes the photo very interesting with tall boarders on the sides so I focus on the center. The colors are really great too, I love the neon green tips.

This has really nice pastel natural colors. It seems very delicate. I also liked the composition choice with the white and red anemone higher than the surrounding complimentary pink ones. I'm curious to know if this was an aquarium photo or a scuba one.

This is a really interesting photo. I really like the colors on the orange and red spotted carp they contrast very nicely with the green water. The water splashing off the tail is a really nice catch. My only critique is the logo in the corner is a bit distracting to me, maybe consider a more subtle one? Nice work here!

Meet the judge

This is a beautiful pajama cardinal fish! It is in perfect focus and so clear that all the little details on it's face and fins can be seen. The background colors go great with the fish making a very pleasing image. This is a really great photo nice job!

This is such a nice sea snail shot. What a find to get two of them together like this. They have beautiful purple and yellow colors that really stand out from their rather drab surroundings. Great job getting nearly every bit of both of them in focus with a macro lens that's some real skill!

This is a beautiful betta shot. The background, which is not completely black, but is shades of purple and red is so complimentary to the fish and so pleasing it makes this photo appear elegant and almost like painting rather than a photo. The light coming through the fins is very nice and the detail and clarity in the scales is top notch. The fish swimming away from the camera at a slight angle and into the purple abyss is also unique and not something you typically see with with fancy betta photos. They are usually captured perfectly orthogonal to the camera, so I like seeing something a little different here. Great work!

This cichlid made me smile so big the first time I saw him. He is a very funny looking fish. I like the way it's looking at the camera. I like the background as well, the white and orange in the upper right compliment his colors nicely.

Very nice aquascape here. I love the purple coral surrounded by bright yellows. The shape of the live rock is nice and the little fish perched on the top is a very nice touch. Someone is doing a very nice job with this tank. Thank you for sharing it.

This is a really pretty and unique photo. I love the black light look that gives everything neon colors. Perfect photo for this multi-colored themed contest. There are a lot of interesting elements here that give the eye a fun journey up and down coral mountain. Setting it against the perfectly black background was a good choice that works really well for this photo! Great photo and great work. Thank you for sharing!

I love the color on this fish, very beautiful. The detail in it's face is incredible. I would have liked to see it cropped in a little closer, but those purples and yellows really caught my eye. The focus on the fish is good too.

This shot fit the brief very well. These green and purple corals surrounded by red ones is just super cool and such a nice contrast. This is great photo. The only thing I would change is trying to find an angle where the little stick like bit in the left corner was less visible as it is a bit distracting. Otherwise great photo choice for this contest. Thank you for sharing.

I love this photo! I wanted to put him in the top ten, but didn't feel like he quite fit the brief of having multi-colors. He just has a hint of multi-colors. However, I love the dead center front capture that makes him look like an alien creature. The fantastic aquascape blurred background and bright light really adds to the beauty of this image. I couldn't tell if those were real plants or a photo background, but either way it makes this little guys appear like an alien floating on far away planet. Great composition, great lighting, and great fish.

I really like the composition here. The contest was called underwater dwellers and this lion fish is living in his underwater house complete with a cup and chair! Very cool. Very nice contrast of lion fish perfectly in focus against the blurry background.

This is a great creative take on a lion fish. This edit is very tastefully and well done. I like the different shades of blue which is the opposite of the natural colors that made it stand out more to me. All the little swirls and rings look great. Great art here.

This is a perfectly lovely photo. The fried egg jelly is in good focus all over even most of those purple and white tentacles. I love how clean this image is with the plain blue background that blends so nicely into the water surface where the distorted reflection makes this image really stand out! The tiny fish using this guy like a giant umbrella is a great complimentary detail. The framing is really perfect with no unnecessary objects to distract the viewer. Wonderful photo! Thank you for sharing!

Really great colors here on this picasso fish and corals, I love the mint green. This photo shows how a picasso fish fits into its natural environment which is something that can be missed with aquarium shots. I feel like the exposure could have been a little better as white tips of the coral above the fish appear a bit blown out, but I know lighting is tricky underwater. Very nice shot overall I enjoyed this unique and unusual looking fish.

Great expression this garden eel has! I love these guys and have tried many times to get good photos of them, but it's very difficult. This is a very nice shot that gives the eel some personality. The lighting is really nice, I like the way it highlights the eels left side. Only thing I would change is trying to get a shot without the second eel in the background, he is a bit distracting. The eel in the front is so perfect he deserves to be the solo star of the show!

I want to see your colour photos of living creatures that are two or more colours and always live underwater. Corals, eels, seahorses, sea slugs and fish are all examples of creatures you may enter. Oceans, rivers, ponds and aquariums are all good places to find these colourful creatures. No people and no animals that live on land and water such as birds. Try to find the most colourful underwater creatures you can.

This is such a happy little fish! I love how the water ripples make him appear to be playing and having a grand time. Very nice job catching this clearly very active moment with such good focus. Fun image I like it!

Wonderful lighting set up this tank has! You did an excellent job finding a clear section of glass! I know exactly what you mean about smudgy glass at aquariums. I sometimes wonder if I should bring some glass cleaner with me! Thank you for sharing, this is beautiful!

Wonderful job getting that eye in focus. This goby is adorable and I love his little sea shell home. He is super cute! The background is has very pleasing colors as well. The only reason this little fella didn't make the top ten is he's not quite on brief as a multi-colored fish. I very much enjoyed this photo though. Well done.

Beautiful colors and lighting on this jelly fish. I have never seen one like this before it is gorgeous. There are a few smudges on the left edges I would have liked removed, but putting the focus on those purple spotted tentacles was brilliant. Nice job!
