This is a wonderful capture to convey a sense of mundane and dull. There certainly looks to be little in the way of fun or amusement to be had here, probably not for a long time past anyway. Looking to be located in a forgotten part of town, maybe beneath a more modern or updated walkway above, it is typical of many towns of a certain age, where the dullness of design of precincts seemed to be the order of the day. Although the scene contains the potentially bold colours of red and yellow, these have appropriately been kept at low saturation to help convey the mood. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
The composition and framing of this dreary scene really make it a success. For me it works really well that you have included only half of the goalpost, with the other half of the frame focused on the waterlogged grass. The metal railings running across the lower part of the frame are utilitarian and as mundane as the rest of the scene, adding to the mood of dullness. Black and white works well, although I imagine the shot could have worked equally well in colour, especially with reduced colour saturation. Congratulations on your second place finish.
What a great image, perfectly capturing the very essence of mundane. Composition is great, with the tree framed by the makeshift goal structure and the loosely attached net. The inclusion of the sandbag is great; itself a mundane subject, but being rather incongruously bright orange, in contrast with the dull greens and greys making up the rest of the scene. The foggy conditions only add to the mood. Congratulations on your winning image.
Although the golden yellow paintwork is rich and warming, the subject matter and composition of the shot certainly convey the mundane. The tables and chairs are plain and without table dressing, set in front of some dull concrete steps and a not overly attractive door. The shape formed by the shadows and sunlight add interest, and frame the patch of damaged plasterwork. All beautifully mundane! Well done on your top ten placing.

What a great shot!. A bus journey can often be rather dull, but the capture of these two youngsters really conveys that feeling, as they do not exactly look to be experiencing the joy of the journey. Despite the mundanity, there is a lovely element of comedy too, with the very large bubblegum bubble being blown; maybe the next shot in the sequence shows the point of bursting onto the boy's face? However large the bubble, his companion shows a complete lack of interest, turned away, arms folded, totally unimpressed. I do not know, but these could be siblings, with the elder finding the behaviour of the younger all rather tiresome. Great black and white work too. Congratulations on your third place finish.

I would like to see your photos of a scene or subject that is considered mundane, which most would pass by and not give a second glance let alone photograph it due to it being so ordinary, boring or not at all interesting. Please avoid adding creative post-processing effects to enhance the subject, but instead show the mundane and dull for what it is. The mundane subject can be anything you choose, from still-life to landscape, and can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
