Mysterious and Spooky

There are not many images in my top 10 that convey a sense of mystery and spookiness. However, this image does. The fact this image was taken on film enhances the mood of this image; the monochrome tones forces you to focus on the skulls in the foreground and, the grain gives you a grittier, more uncomfortable feel to the image. The vehicle placed perfectly on the horizon, is what adds this excellent feel of mystery in this image. It asks all the rhetorical questions. To summarise, this is a very uneasy, odd and most impartantly: spooky and mysterious! A very well done and thanks for entering!

When creating this competition, I was expecting images that were spooky and had a slight sense of fear. I never thought I would see photos that would evolve into the next level of complexity; ominousness. Some of the top photos in this competition convey this feeling. The crosses all seem to be tilted towards the camera, confronting it. It's almost like they are staring at you; ominously. They are staring at you almost like you should be guilty. This is very spooky, intimidating but very sinister and minacious. An excellent image and a perfect entry for this competition. I send my congrats!

This image was one of my favourites from the beginning. The branches from the tree are extended across the image, streching for something... reaching for you. The branches are like a spider's legs; giving you the shivers. The fact that the whites are extremely lowered gives the image an even more subdued and uncomfortable feeling and atmosphere. A very spooky image indeed! Congrats and well done!

There are not many photos in this competition that evolved beyond the two keywords of this competition. This image, conveys a strong feeling of intimidation and ominousness. As you describe it, a space ship would be a brilliant way to describe the emotions felt when viewing this image. The building feels alive; preying on us below. A very spooky and intimidating thought indeed. The glass windows are like eyes to a machine, observing us. If you haven't heard of the novel and film 'War of the Worlds' then you must research it. It is because of that fiction that I feel such strong feelings with this image. An exemplar of an image and very well done. Superb!!
