Personally, I dont care for the traffic sign.
I think the image without it is SUPER strong. With it is still good.... but the simplicity of this image without the sign would make it even better. I think.

I LOVE the focus in this. The pastels, the softness- this is just an incredibly beautiful image. I can stare into this for hours. I think I have! :)
Proof it isnt all about grand landscapes.... sometimes if you have an eye, you can find beauty in the smallest things, too!

Really an usual and every special shot
Focus is tack sharp.
And the snow frozen in mid air works so well here.
I would not have initially thought this "pose" would work, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. For its special nature.

Coyote or fox?
I dunno. I know foxes do this exact move ALL the time, and to me, coyotes are always so mangy.... but I am NO EXPERT!
Regardless, just a great and sort of comic shot. I never get tired of seeing this move by predators (see how smart I was- did not say fox or coyote!)
I rented a Z7 for a few days and really liked it. I had wide angle lenses not teles.... this looks just great. Maybe a touch too much chroma.... but not enough to kill the shot.

Thank you for entering the contest.
I wanted to comment on this image. I think it has GREAT basics. I think your exposure and composition are really good and well thought out. This image STOPPED me and made me look.
Now comes the critical part- if you DON'T want a criticism, STOP NOW. Just know I NEVER criticize unless I can also help you get better- and that is MY goal- to make you better (NOT to criticize!)
Anyway, what is GREAT here is you have a great time of day, great light and an interesting bit of nature.
But lets look at this close- what is the MOST interesting thing? What is this about? To me, its that cool broken ice lower left.
What I could criticize here is that you are doing what a LOT of people (myself included!) do- shoot at eye level! The cool thing is down low, Get down there!
A wider lens would have been nice, but not mandatory. You could have shot with this. And while that crack in the ice is a good leading line, getting up close and personal to the broken ice would be WAY more interesting.
I would have kept the same exposure, horizon line and all, just gotten down low. I think that would ahve made a much better image.
So my advice- I have two.
When youa re "working" an image, ask yourself what is the item of interest; then make sure you are shooting that as best as you can;
Break out of the eye-level shooting.
Otherwise, like I said, this is very good. I really do like it!

There were a LOT of similar images in this contest. It is a common and pretty easy image to shoot. The problem with most is poor edges. You cant have all your lines leading you out of the image.
Yours is the only image that the edges did not kill. You also have really wonderful color here, which makes it even better.. Finally, I love the light quality.

This is an absolutely lovely image.
Unlike many images, I have no comments to make ti better. I see wonderful light, and great composition.
What I DONT see is winter. I see a little fringe of ice o(possibly) on some rocks, but this looks more late fall than winter to me.
So while I love the image, I do not think it meets the requirements of entry....

I just LOVE the dream like quality of the main part of this image. That is the true beauty of this image.... and that is GREAT! Part of it is the great dusting of snow and ice.... and 0-part of it is the great light.
Where this fails is the upper left. That person in red takes the eyes away from the magic and out of the picture. The fenced area I am on the fence about- but you should probably crop all the way out to that, too.
Taking the image is just part of the process.... you need to develop it well, too!
