Night in the City

My second choice is this rather abstract city view of the financial area of London which has been beautifully edited. I love the colour tones that have been used and the way it almost looks as if the city is moving. Well done to the photographer.

I have given this masterful photograph first place as it encapsulates my idea of 'Night in the City'. It has a very impressionistic edit which is very cleverly done, The people walking about on their business on what was clearly a wet night is beautifully portrayed and the photographer should be extremely proud of what they have achieved.

This picture deserves a title. It is unclear as to whether it is actually in a city at night or just in a tunnel of some sort. It is an image that makes one think about what is going on. It is extremely well executed and for me is a rather unsettling image. The man's expression as he looks at the camera is one of uncertainty and anguish. Perhaps he feels trapped or hunted.

A very clever image using Intentional Camera Movement and yet what I presume is water, perhaps a river, still seems to be in focus. the orange glow near the centre of the image is something the eye is drawn to and although it appears very abstract it is clearly an image of buildings in a city at night.

Compared to many of the beautifully shot images of cities acriss the workd my eye was drawn to this one due to its simplicity. The photographer has captured a moment in time when the girl has spotted the dresses in the window of the shop and stopped, Her body language seems to convey that she is captivated by what she sees while her boyfriend appears to want to move her along. A beautiful bit of street photography story telling.

A very busy photograph which gives the sense that although it is night, the city is still a very busy and vibrant place. Everything still seems crystal clear which is down to the skill of the photographer. So much is happening on the picture it is difficult to know where to look but the black and white areas given us something to follow.
