Am amazingly timed photo that captures the excitement and energetic atmosphere of a stadium. The repeating colours of red, white, and blue can be seen everywhere from the USA shaped flag to the fire works display. There can be no doubt about what country this is and what sport is about to take place! Excellent work capturing the soul of this game!
A great photo of the falls at night on its own, made even more special with the presence of a lunar rainbow. Shooting with the moon behind you has illuminated the landscape perfectly while allowing some stars to remain in the sky. The positioning of the two drops in the falls are well place too. Well done!
An effective use of light painting with the added bonus of ghostly legs traversing the path. The composition works well with a balance of rock formations on either side of the frame and the Milky Way and the lit path leading to the same place. Both the sky and the foreground are well exposed. Good work!
The night sky comes to life in this bright and intriguing nightscape. You've done a wonderful job of making the night feel vibrant and open while simultaneously keeping the essence of the dark. I like how the tilt of the Milky Way matches the slope of the desert rocks, while the distant snow capped peaks prove to the eye that the whole image isn't askew. The atmospheric glow around the brighter stars adds to the ethereal nature of the scene. Fantastic shot!
The brightness, colour and shape of the aurora are magnificent. The bright pale green works well with the deep dark blue of the night sky. There are plenty of crisp details throughout the mountainside and foreground. The composition is well balanced visually with the mountain peak on one side and the brightest part of the aurora on the left. Well done!
This is an incredible shot of lightning with amazing texture and colour in the clouds. The lighting and details throughout the bolt and the stormy clouds is exposed perfectly. My only suggestion is that the bottom part of the image, the water and hills, only acts as a distraction to the lightning. Try cropping out the lower portion to just below the clouds and see how much more dramatic the photo becomes. Very well taken, great work!
A truly beautiful display of colour and contrast. This is how I might imagine the night sky would look on a planet closer to the centre of the galaxy. A radiant piece of abstract light and wonder illuminating a alien landscape. The shapes and lights through the Milky Way are captivating and mesmerising. The exposure and detail of the foreground are spot on for a night time scene. Great work!
A well composed Milky Way shot with a thoughtful consideration to foreground interest. The lit façade of the stone building captures the viewers attention initially. Then the little scene within a scene of the silhouetted trees and Milky Way on the right draw the eye. The small human figures by the central building are a nice touch too. To be honest, the red foreground just fit the overall scene so well that I hardly noticed it as a feature! It does work so well with the rest of the scene as is a fantastic addition. Great work!
A wonderfully expansive landscape with a beautifully exposed and treated Milky Way. The person on the edge of the cliff with the light is a great point of interest and story telling element. The way this leads into the line of the rock formation which then leads to the joining of horizon and galaxy creates a strong visual component. A magical scene exposed with skill. Well done!
A very well technically executed photo. Both the sky and the foreground are perfectly exposed with loads of details. The extra effort to light the entrances to the stone structures creates a unique point of interest. I even like how it lights up some tufts of grass on the left of the frame. A minor point I bring up that slightly distracts from the overall professionalism of the photo is the far left horizon line that appears like a difference of exposure level. Still a fantastic image!

It's the half of the day most neglected by photographers, when the sun sets and night takes hold. Nightscapes cover a broad range of shots, from moon-lit landscapes, to night-time cityscapes, and images that showcase the breathtaking beauty of the stars above our heads.

A well thought out and well executed Milky Way panorama. The arc of the galaxy is perfectly centred, curving over the mountain range and touching the horizon at two gaps in the "closer" peaks. A tiny red tent catches the viewers eye and helps to add scale and story to the immense scene. The solitude created by the inclusion of the tent also elicits a deep personal connection to the vast expanse of the universe around us. Magnificent!
It doesn't get much better than the pale green charged light of the Aurora bathing a snowy mountain landscape. Unless of course the focus, exposure and composition are all spot on, like in this photo. The vibrant glow of the sky on the left with the taller mountain peak is nicely balanced with the scattered star field in a hazy sky and the distant illuminated mountains on the right. The inclusion of a little building in the bottom left is a nice touch that helps add scale to the scene. Well done!
A gorgeously composed and exposed night sky and mountain view. The central illuminated building anchors the scene, providing a place to come back to for a wandering eye. The fiery sky adds an interesting separation between land and sky, one that matches the lights of the building, while contrasting with the blue expanse of the galaxy. A photo that has rewarded the photographer for their dedication and efforts. Great work!
A captivating display of light and texture. While the stretched blur adds a unique element to the photo, there remains a beautiful texture to the stones on the ground, as well as a good balance of visual structures through the centre. The central building anchors the frame and allows the eye to explore the shadowy figures and partially hidden details beyond.
