There has been a couple of photographs of this same carriage in this competition and it has been difficult to make my mind since both are beautiful and I liked different details in both of them. At the end I chose this one since I like the better exposure and the post-processing on this one most. Although, being obsessed with symmetry, I would have probably taken the picture a bit more from the left in order to center the window in the back, but I’m sure there was a reason (some obstacle?) you couldn’t do that, and as said, itˋs a gorgeous image and it has to be in my top 10. Congratulations on your second place Steve.

Meet the judge
Thank you for entering the competition Bogdan Zarkowski, and congratulations on your well deserved first place. I really like the angle this photograph was taken from; brilliant colours and sharpness. Black background was the perfect choice having those beautiful colours in contrast. Well done.

Old royals carriages have a kind of charm. Although not a “royalist”, I still appreciate seeing them. They are charming, elegant and they take you back to that time, even if just for a few seconds. It can be something you’ve seen in a museum or in a parade Show us your best image of old royal carriages. Have fun and good luck!
