On the Beach

Letterbox format suits the image. Love or hate the turbines they give a surreal feel to the photo. Recession of tones adds depth to the image. The diagonal line of the horse tracks and shadow fills the bottom third of the images giving a well balanced overall composition.

Great action shot taken on the beach that has impact and its original compared to the other images in the competition. Just what I was looking for. A good use of the wide angle lens to give depth to the photo. I would have got rid of the bird above the players head.

Looks as though this was taken for the competition and not just pulled from the files!!! Imagination used and stood out from the standard beach scene. Liked the inclusion of the people on the beach in the background. Would have changed the colour of the red coat as it attracts too much attention, otherwise a very original image.

Beautiful monochromatic shot. According to that magic book of rules there are a few things wrong with composition but the images works so that OK for me. The figure too close to the edge, not on the magic third, the waves stop dead center of the picture but it works perfectly for me.
