I love the emotion and narrative of this image, it almost looks like the black dog is talking in the ear of a less than thrilled friend. There is so much character to it, such a great portrait of this pair. The lighting is perfect, soft without blowing out any highlights, and the image is nice and sharp. But I think what really stands out here is the character and energy. Great work!

This minimalistic portrait was striking to me immediately! I love the high key black and white profile, and especially love how the light here highlights all the interesting textures and shapes of the anatomy of this dog's face. The bright eyes also pop from the image, which draw in the viewer. For a simplistic image, there is actually quite a lot going on here to pore over, which I appreciate.

It is a very unique portrait of this gorgeous cat and really effectively captures energy, movement, and personality. I also very much appreciate the creativity of the setup here, as opposed to typical studio shots.

I really enjoy the atmosphere of this image. At eye level with this small dog, you feel like you are a part of its world. This is a perspective the human mind isn't used to, so it is a very intriguing image to the eye. The color saturation is beautiful and gives the scene a very ethereal feeling. I also love the pose of the dog, gazing out into the negative space. Lovely work!

I love the balance of this image, it is quite satisfying to the eye. The way the light source lights up the wispy hairs of the tarantula accentuate the image nicely as well. Its feet look almost delicate against the surface. This is a very nice portrait of an underrated pet, good work!

This portrait is gorgeous, bright in color with a subject clearly defined from a lovely, blurred background. I love the curve of the monitor's tongue, really divides the image in a unique way as it cut through the negative space. I think my only wish is that there was a bit more of the lizard's body included on the lower left, it feels a bit tight for my tastes. Despite this, it is such a beautiful photo and what a unique and fun pet!

The texture in this image is what stands out the most to me, the wet strands of hair are a visual delight. The choice of black and white is very tasteful as the contrast of the wet fur looks quite dynamic in range. Your beautiful subject shines here, look at those soulful eyes! A lovely portrait, I wish it had a bit more breathing room to show some of the sea in the background. However, it is still a perfect image.

This image is so striking to me, the texture of the window is very interesting for starters. But the shadow of the cat- so simplistic, still manages to capture the graceful curves of this slender creature. The distribution of color in this simple image draws you right into the subject. I very much enjoy the simplicity here, so understated, but also conveying so much. Excellent work.

I love this "habitat" shot of this gorgeous pup! Those ears are especially nice to me in their range of colors and textures amongst that wavy fur, plus a face crusted in light snow. The intense gaze of the dog gripped me immediately. Something I very much enjoy about this picture is the division of three "layers;" the blurry snowy background, the subject, and the vegetation and snowbank up front. It makes for quite a lovely portrait of this dog.

The minutiae of the details in this shot are what really make it sing to me. I love the slightly angled wall, the texture of it, and the subject off to a side. The recessed pit the cat leans out of adds some sharp lines that contrast with the svelte figure of the subject. The little quirked up tail draws in the viewer's eye- as well as those of the cat, brightly winking out from its dark hiding spot. Lovely work, beautiful shot!

This guy is just too cute! Hard to peel your eyes off that beautiful little face. Even still- the rest of the image is quite well executed. I love the work that went into making this charming image, the lovely lighting was clearly done by a skilled hand, and I love the thought put into small details like his little glass of juice. I also love the flowers filling negative space with a pop of color. All in all a very well done studio shot.

This portrait is totally full of charisma and personality. The snow adds some drama, the black and white makes it reminiscent of artwork. I really especially love how the focus of this image is the intense stare of the dog's eyes, and his attentive ears pointed up toward the viewer. A great example of a very effective portrait.
