I lived in Miami Beach for many years, and in the context of that experience I might suggest that this image is not all that 'out of place',. However, in a global context, it's certainly an image that raises questions and the juxtapositions are beautifully bizarre. Nicely seen and captured.

A simple and well-excuted idea. I am really drawn to the minimalist aesthetic in this image. While there are not many elements; some birds, a ladder set in an otherworldly 'space' there is enough to stimulate myriad readings and interpretations.

I love the bizarreness of this image. Despite the difference in scale and textures. The combination of the porcelain shark and the washing machine has been well executed, especially regarding the colour grading and lighting which is spot on, and the 'wet' shimmer of the ceramic glaze creates a sense of authenticity.

A lovely landscape, that has echoes of The New Topograiohics. The discarded sofa in the land is not only out of place, but also adds a poignant commentary on humanity's relationship with nature and the environment. I like it when images make us think and this image does just that!

The 'art of seeing' an image really is an art and the photographer has done well to 'see' this image and capture it. Naturally, there's an element of humour as it appears that the dog is driving, this adds to the photo's 'story. And the dog's expression is priceless.

A beautifully observed and captured shot. The cat's eyes have a mischievous menace about them in the way that only a cat could. The overall composition works well and I enjoy the way I didn't immediately see what was 'out of place'.

A striking and confident approach to the brief. Graphically, I love the shapes, created by the elements of the composition and the contrast between the textures of the legs and the tree. But what I like most is the sense of implied narrative and the questions the image raises for the viewer.

I love the bold, confident and minimalist approach to this image. But more importantly, I love the fact that the plants appear defiant and manage to find a way through the mass of concrete and bricks. At first, I think it's easy to see the plants as out of place, but really, it's the concrete and bricks. Beautifully composed and well thought out.

Bonkers but brilliant! I have a sneaky feeling that photoshop may have been used in the making of this image. I love it for its unabashed attitude. The overall black and white treatment actually helps hold the image together in a surprisingly authentic way, even though it's clearly a surreal montage. B

A lovely idea that has been well considered and executed. I love the concept and it works well. The lighting has been beautifully handled too and artfully holds the image together. It also just goes to show what a versatile and competent tool a smartphone can be.

The colours and patterns in this simple but highly effective composition are sublime. I love the overall colour platter and the way it has been handled; simultaneously vibrant and subtle. Clever. The contrast between the delicate floral design of the sofa's fabric contrasted with the hard, harsh line of graffiti add to the story. Great work!

I love the arrangement of lines in this image. It almost feels like an abstract painting. The hard light and crisp shadows work a treat. The hands holding an Apple iPad in the darkness of the window add a haunting sense of mystery.

Another sad commentary on humanity's relationship with nature. I wish this image didn't exist, but it does. The photographer has done a great job of capturing the scene and including the plastic is vital to reinforce the narrative around the way we are ruining the planet. Good work.
