When I started my studies in audiovisual as a cameraman, we attended a retrospective of François Truffaut. Seeing this picture, how not to think about the new French wave of the 60s? How not to see in this young man the class of Jean-Paul Belmondo walking in the streets of Paris? Of course, this photo could have been taken anywhere, nothing tells us that it was taken in a street in Paris, but it has something so Parisian. The attitude of the young man? Black and white treatment? The deliberately centered and very cinematographic framing? In short it is an image that deserves its place in the top 10 and who lacks a "Parisian" indication to win the contest. In short, I fell in love ... Bravo and still bavo! ! !
This "little picture" is in my top 10 because I think Paris is that too. The love, the tenderness, the timeless side at once modern and old that emits from this photo filled us with nostalgia. Cross processing is important for many. However beware of the inclination of the tower that deserved to be redrawn before publication. But the framing deliberately off rule finally gives the dynamics of this photo. I like the composition of this photo, the position of the heads and the complexity of the braids recall the arrow of the Eiffel Tower, I also like this ambiguity in front of these two girls. Are they sisters, friends, lovers? Very good job !!!
This photo could have been in my top 10 as it shows the strength of the cathedral and the details of the roof which unfortunately no longer exists ... How can such a masterpiece of more than 8 centuries disappear in a few hours? I really like the finesse of the details revealed by the black and white treatment. We have the impression that she literally leaves the forest. I miss a little more vision of the context around the cathedral. A little more air in the frame. However it is really a very beautiful photo which really deserves to be recommended and seen by a maximum of people. Good Job !!!
A great Parisian classic: the photo of gargoyles and chimeras. Of all the pictures of gargoyles or chimeras I've seen in this contest, it's really the most accomplished. It instantly plunges us back into the rome of Victor Hugo, the hunchback of Notre-Dame where casimodo is in love with esmeralda. I like square framing, I like the color treatment of the post-production and it pays homage to the old photos of the beginning of the 20th century. In short, a place in the top 10 well deserved .... Bravo!
When I decided to create this contest, I wanted to pay tribute to the height of the beauty of this old lady. For me this photo represents all this: strength, finesse, beauty and especially the grace of Notre-Dame de Paris. The choice of this moment of the day gives all the importance and the reason of this first place. We navigate between dream and reality, as if the monument was there without being there. And this picture is like a postcard of Paris. I think sinserly that if we had to keep a photo of Notre-Dame, it would be this one because I like this colored side of before night, let's not forget that in Paris it is exactly at this moment that the we decide the night we will spend... Congratulations for this excellent photo.
