I have seen a colour version of this picture before and thought highly of it as I do in black and white. The window frames the happy family perfectly and the walls allow us to focus on the family at the window. The photographer has framed things perfectly as we can see the whole window frame. It is obvious that the family are a happy unit.

This contest is for your photos that show at least two people being happy together. They could be in any location such as on the beach, at a party, in the street, etc., showing happiness together either through their body language or facial expressions.
This is a simple image of two happy friends making eye contact with the photographer. The children's clothes are brightly coloured and this helps them stand out against the plain grey hues of the wall behind them. I also like the simple touch of the yellow sandals just behind the girl in pink. Probably an accident but one that adds a little more colour to the image.
Such a simple image and although we can not see the faces of the couple their body language conveys the comfort and ease they are with each other. By placing them where he/she did the photographs allows us to clearly see a very simple background. I also like the fact that the colours have been muted.
Two happy smiling faces beaming at the camera and meets the brief of the contest perfectly. I like the fact that the faces are in a diagonal rather than straight on and that the photographer has gone in so close. The colours are excellent the plain yellow wall allowing the warm tones of the children's skin to stand out.
I have seen this photograph before and liked it then as I do now. There are no real smiles here but there is a feeling of support and contentment in the subjects of the picture. The colours of the clothing stand out against the darker wall nicely. If I had taken the picture I may have tried to move the camera to the left more allowing to see more of the steps and position the couple more to the right of the picture.
A photograph with a real narrative and shows the generational gap can be bridged with a game like chess. The sepia edit suits the image and gives it a timeless feel. My only criticism is, and purely personal, is I think I would have asked the boy to raise his right arm instead of the left thus allowing us to see more of his face.

Another shot across the generations. I like the fact that it is in black and white and focuses only on the faces of the subjects. Whether by accident or design the way the faces are positioned is excellent. The older couple, grandparents or great grandparents are obviously so happy to see the newborn child.
