People Farming Cattle

It's really nice to see a cow being milked by hand knowing just how far technology has gone. The way the lady is having to milk in the rain shows dedication to her work. The way you have composed the image with the sheep in the background adding interest but not a distraction is lovely. A really nice well captured image, so well done.

Though I had to look twice to see the calf on the farmers knee I really like this image. It portrays a part of cattle farming I suppose could have otherwise been ignored. So well done for taking this image and thinking well outside the box. The image is well framed and captured as well as being pin sharp. I like the dog being in the foreground as it adds interest. Well done.

When I saw this image and its title I was left rather puzzled. I have never her of the word /term 'transhumance' before. At first I thought it wasn't cattle farming and was instead a race like the 'man v horse'. Then I decided to look it up. WOW, I was amazed. This is an incredible discovery. I feel you need to include a little detail to describe this to help people understand that it is cattle farming. The image is well framed, pin sharp and your colours and tones are lovely. Another very different way of farming cattle so a well deserved place in the top 10. Well done.

I needed to say how wonderful this image is. Not only for its photographic elements, but as you have said correctly, the way it encourages younger people to get into farming. The image is pin sharp, well framed and has lovely colours and tones. it comes across wonderfully that the young girl in the image has taken great care of her animal.

I find it incredible just how different farming cattle is around the world. This image is marvellous as it helps educate people about the different types of cattle farming and more importantly in it's own way shows how different countries and cultures care for their animals. You have captured this image beautifully pin sharp, it's well framed and you have managed the colours brilliantly. I love the colour of the sky, which having the beautiful long horns of the cattle on its edge leads you nicely into the rest of the frame. A really nice, well captured and very worthy winner. This is a lovely image. I like the framing of it with the smaller cow to the left facing into the frame and the other cow in the centre. It stops you from leaving the frame and takes you to look at the farmer. The smoke drifting round them all is beautiful and atmospheric. The whole image is technically perfect and pin sharp. This beautiful image shows one of the varied ways in which cattle are farmed. I love the smoke drifting around as it helps take you into the image as it guides you around the whole of the frame nicely but doesn't let you leave.
