When I envisioned this contest, I was looking for something unique that told me a story not just a person or people in costumes.
Your photo is an interesting mix of costume, location, props and facial expressions all rolled up into one fantastic shot.
I had moved this into my top 10 right away. Going back through my options and rankings I saw a few other photos I was also intrigued by and to be quite honest, my wife chose this as her favorite. I was undecided until late Sunday night but couldn't give other photos a higher rating than yours.
This may not appeal to the crowd as much as it did me. Nevertheless, it came down to who told me the story best and used their costumes to their advantage.

A black and white photo with great details and facial expression. When I first saw it I knew I would rate this pretty high but only after going back through my top selections and zooming in on the details, I decided it was top caliber.

Fantastic capture. I really love the intricacies of this photo. Zooming in on the photo you see very small details that make it great.
I'm not a big fan on jewelry or piercings but seeing where these were and seeing that even the wolf had his nose pierced, added value to the costume.
