I was expecting to see a number of entries captured in this location (Calke Abbey if I am not mistaken?) and this image certainly does not disappoint. Tricky lighting from the gloom of the interior combined with natural lighting streaming through the window has been well balanced with the HDR processing. Super level of detail throughout the image gives plenty to keep the viewers attention. Well done on your top ten placing.
I love everything about this image. The composition is simple, which keeps full focus on the subject. The colours are gorgeous; rich and bold but not overdone, with the fresh green of the delightful potted plants standing out against the golden yellow and deep red. The white of the flowers adds a little delicacy amongst all the rich colours. The steps rising through the frame on the diagonal is very attractive. The framing of the subject has ensured the subject fills the frame, with nothing to distract. Congratulations on your winning image.
A slightly unusual viewpoint and composition makes this image stand out. I love the lighting, with sunlight falling on the side of the rounded pot to reveal its shape and form. The image overall is quite monochromatic, with mustardy-browns filling the frame aside from the plant. Creatively captured, well done on your top ten placing.
The lovely lighting captured in this image contributes to a beautiful shot. The shadows have been suitably lifted to avoid any over-dark areas, so there are plenty of details throughout the frame. I am unsure whether the pots have been specially set-up, but the arrangement looks natural within an attractive garden setting. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.

The head-on viewpoint works well here, creating a simple but attractive image. Everything is well lined up within the frame, something quite important when looking face on to the building as here. Lovely colours, with the golden wall and pots contrasting well with the plants, the window and window bars. Plenty of textures in the plasterwork adds interest throughout. Well done on your top ten placing.

This contest is for your photos of plant pots and potted plants. You could show one or more empty plant pots, or the pots with plants growing in them, whether indoors or outside. If you choose to photograph a potted plant, please make sure there is also some of the pot clearly visible in the photo. You can show any type of plant pot, but the purpose of the pot must be for growing plants. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.

I love the atmosphere of this shady terrace, with the giant shapely pots lining the edge of the walkway beneath the trailing foliage overhead. The colours are great, with the pots and stonework all similar shades of an attractive gentle pinky orange, which contrasts nicely with the green of the plants and the purple flowers. Well composed, with the line of pots leading the eye into the frame to the window and door in the background. Congratulations on your third place finish.
Plant pots is what I asked for, and plant pots is what I got!!. A super composition, with these stacks of terracotta pots filling the frame. The colours look realistic, which can sometimes be difficult to achieve when one colour takes up the entire image. Composition works well, with the single larger pot in the foreground, and the smaller stacked pots filling the rest of the scene. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
