Plants Growing in Unusual Places

The vast and bare landscape creates a great contrast for the little white flowers, truly a harsh place for plants to grow.They seem to have found a place in between the limestone boulders to find some shelter. The stormy clouds enhance this feeling. I like the composition very much, the flowers are beautifully lit, although they grow in the depth and the high horizon makes the bare rocks look even tougher, wonderful.

The nice thing about judging contests is the fact that you have to look very good, judge a photo on different grounds and learn that way from other photographers. I am saying that because you convinced me that it is possible to create a great image with color pop. The story it tells here is wonderful and the contrast takes the focus completely to the plant.

A very simple and recognizable image, it shows one can take wonderful photos just around the corner. A well composed image with a nice depth of field, wonderful light on the flowers and the square crop works well here. Congratulations on a top ten rank.

In these times of human pollution against nature, this image tells a wonderful story. Instead of a motor, flowers come bursting out from under the hood. The composition is very nice, I like the open door very mush as a sign the driver definitely left the car. The colors go well together and make for a harmonious image that is pleasing to look at. I would hang it on the wall as a great happy poster.
