Playing Vinyl Records

This is a very nice cartridge and a great photo. I love the detail and the absence of dust (not perfect however). I also highlight the reference cartridge’s reflection on the disc and the carbon like material of the arm. The movement is well captured and very smooth. The white and black tones are well balanced. It is a photo that makes me want to imagine what would be playing at that moment.

My top 3 ends with this beautiful photo. I loved the clarity and cleanliness of the vinyl record and the care taken in the cartridge position, highlighting the lines of tracks separation. The blurry background (from the central part of the record) sure deviates the look a little, but in the end seems to create some adicional balance. The reflection of the needle ends up working well, as does the lighting on the front of the cartridge. I think the result is very good and leads me to some kind of special tranquility when looking to the photo. Congratulations.

There's something in this photo that immediately attracts me. The balance between reds, black and white is very well achieved. As requested in the challenge, the photo presents a great definition, clarity, and there are no dust spots or other type of impurities. It is, for me, a winning photograph in this challenge but also with great potencial in other challenges that the subject can fit. This work is really impressive. I advise you to read the description in the photo to understand the scale and how the work was done (and the effort envolved). I had the difficult choice not to reward it in top 10, because the objective behind the challenge puts it somehow out of context. But no doubt it's impressive and with a very unusual execution. Therefore, is undoubtedly worthy of highlight and honorable choice. Congratulations on your extraordinary work.

From the point of view of definition and sharpness, this is for me a perfect photo. From the judgement that was made, this photo must be in a top place in the best 10. I really liked the shade of red and the color balance around the focus. As I said earlier in other challenges, there are photos that should be looked as a reference as photographic technique concerns. It is this technique, together with great creativity, that will give you winning photos. Many congratulations to the author who also presented other photos in the challenge with equal quality.
