Gorgeous lighting. The postboxes stand out really well yet aren't too distracting as all the colours are fairly muted. I love the various leading lines in the frame which take your eye on a journey through the whole picture. Nice amount of detail in the sky, good choice of focal length. Well done - a well deserved winner
Really good composition with all the leading lines bringing you to the iconic bright yellow school bus in a bleak landscape. It just feels hot, dry and bleak. If it wasn't a school bus in the shot then I would expect some tumble weed to be blowing past! The strong, nearly mid day, sunlight adds to the harshness of the location and scene. The same shot with a low sun would have given a very different feel.
Love the composition and the lighting. You shot this from a nice low angle, kept the line of mail boxes at the bottom of the frame which makes all the difference. Definitely a good call keeping the wonky letter box on the right in the shot - it feels like a sad outcast member of the group. The grasses all backlit really stand out with nice detail in the seed heads all adding to a really strong image. well done

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** The thrill of posting a letter to a friend, sending it on a long journey, maybe to a foreign land, and all made possible with a simple stamp and a walk to your local post box. Nowadays post boxes and mailboxes are more associated with getting Amazon deliveries, bills and junk mail, or sending something back because it doesn’t quite fit, but they are still very much part of our lives, and range from the plain and functional, to the ornate and nostalgic.
