Some people find clowns to be scary rather than amusing, and here this clown-themed rubbish bin has been captured in a way that portrays a certain menace. The figure on the bicycle is an important element of the composition, and the fairground rides in the background give context. I love the composition, with the frame more or less divided into two, with the gruesome clown bin filling one half of the frams in the foreground. Conversion to black and white has been well done and suits the subject. Congratulations on your winning image.
On one level the bin here is the sole subject, but the way the image has been captured really makes the most of the backdrop and paving, which are full of wonderful colours, tones and textures. The wet paving also adds to the image by supplying a little gleam. A simple but effective portrayal of a fine looking litter bin. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

Being quite different from other images in this contest, this shot really caught my eye. I am sure the oroginal purpose of this image was maybe not to make the bin the focal point, but it draws the eye and for me make a successful shot by the slight incongruity of the bin in such an atteactive rural setting. Unusual but successful, well done on your top ten placing.
I love the gritty feel this image has, showing the back alley of some urban terraces, looking a little dilapidated. The processing treatment adds to the mood of the shot, and the limited colour palette works well. The cat is a focal point, but does not dominate, and for this contest the all-important bins are a strong feature. Congratulations on your second place finish.

Certainly an unusual viewpoint, capturing a beautiful shoreline in the golden glow of the low sunlight through the openings of a litter bin. Tricky lighting conditions, not only shooting into the sun but shooting through the inside of the bin, I like that some details of the inside of the bin have been retained to prevent it looking more like a three-piece black frame. Great work too that you have been able to compose the shot to partially obscure the sunlight to get a lovely starburst effect. I do wonder however over the reactions of any folk passing by, puzzling over why someone would be not only staring intently through a litter bin, but poking their camera into the bin too!! Congratulations on your third place finish.
