Red

This image really stood out to me. It's beautiful in its silhouettes and the simple contrast of the tree, animals and plants against the red sunset.

Ultimately I didn't select this image for an awards because it is a composite, and I tend to appreciate more organic documentary photography. But a stunning image!

So many beautiful textures in this image. The wall has rich swaths of red, and the contrast of the rusted and worn curves of the thin green lines of the iron chairs really stand out and make a great image.

This is a great documentary image that both tells a story and stands alone as a beautiful piece of art. I love the varied lighting given off by the candles and the coves, the repetition of pattern and the symmetry.

There's something beautifully eerie in this image. A strong portrait with piercing blue eyes, the clear red liquid offers us some view beneath, and the contours of her body. Surrounded by patterns of what appears to be folder paper, the image catches the eye and moves us curiously through the depths and textures.

I love the contrasts in this photo, from the power of the truck against the soft snow, the red popping against the monochromatic whites, and the approaching power of the vehicle as it crests the hill, slightly hidden from view, giving us a sense of motion suspense.
