Red Hot Chilli Peppers

This contest was hard to judge. There was a good amount of only peppers pictures and some fine pictures with a more complex composition. This one caught my eyes right from the beginning. The photo transports me right there to that place and this is one of the aspects I most value when I look at an image. The pallet of reds, blues, browns and greys is extraordinary. It maybe not be an obvious picture, in the sense of the challenge main subject, but nothing is lost regarding Red Hot Chilli Peppers and it proves you can. The way they are scattered in the foreground, the red movement in the hands and the environment of the whole photo pleases me very much. Thank you all and compliments to the author.

It was impossible to evaluate this contest and not spend some time watching this photo. It is extraordinarily well designed and produced. My mainly concerns were about the darkness of the reds but it is a top class idea. The best commend I can do is I would like to have taken it myself. I didn't have any doubts about selecting it for a place in the top 10. Congratulations.

This photo deserves a place in the top 10. I think it is not necessary to produce extraordinary environments and special effects for a good or even extraordinary photo. And this is a good example. Perfect and well-defined colours, simple but effective composition and above-average technical quality. This should be the minimum standards for any photo and it is what I search in my everyday photo sessions. Make no mistake, it's an excellent photo. Congratulations and thanks for participating.

This photo also captured my attention from the beginning. In addition to the colour balance and the verticality of all the elements in the photo, the image leads me to think about the place. There is something enigmatic and mysterious in this photo. What are the actual dimensions of the elements? What surrounds it will also be minimal? Or is a place full of people and movement? I also want to highlight the good definition of all the elements, the walls textures and the minimalism of the whole composition. For these reasons, and because there was some courage to show a distinct picture, it deserves my praise and this outstanding position. Congratulations!

I chose to comment on this photo for an objective reason. It shows that it is possible to produce good photos with elements of everyday life without requiring many expensive artifacts or equipment. For the ones that are beginning or are less experienced in photography, I think this is an excellent exercise to replicate. Trial and error is necessary. Despite not being part of the final top 10, I think it deserves my mention for the care taken by the author. Congratulations!

I really liked the idea of introducing ice into peppers and the final result is pretty good. In addition to the effect by itself, the frosted Chilli Peppers allowed the author to produce a high-quality photo, with a great balance of colours and to reduce the excess of glare that arises when we shoot this kind of bright reds. It was very clever. The peppers are arranged in a careful way which contributes positively to the evaluation. Congratulations.
