Great contest!

Several long-exposure freeway images were entered but I like the way you have captured airplane lights as well as the car traffic. The time of the day has been well chosen to leave enough blue in the sky. A great example of creative thinking. Perhaps some slightly tighter cropping could eliminate some of the other colors.

Go The Red Arrows! There were many entries of these fabulous fliers and I chose this one for the energy in the image. The white vapour trails from the wing tips add another element to the shot. Well cropped to contain the action and colours.

No Red Arrows here but a very good example of capturing an aerobatic manoeuvre and framing it with a parked aeroplane. This is a good example of deliberately photographing only part of something rather than the whole. I like this very much.

This is a great example of choosing to capture only part of something instead of the whole. As tempting as it might have been to get all of the ships in the shot this composition works better. I am seeing 99% of the frame filled with the three colours, very well done.

The red leaves look spectacular and the reflected blue and white in the water is appealing. I feel if this had been cropped tighter so that the church filled more I the frame it would have been in the top ten. Good to have a film image entered.Great job and a good approach to the challenge.

These three colours are more prevalent than you think. They are a powerful combination and can be seen in clothing, promotions, advertising, anywhere someone wants to capture your attention. Many flags have these patriotic colours but try to avoid images of them unless you can be very creative. Deliberate colour combinations can be seen on shop mannnequins, signs, merchandise. Opportune discoveries could be a snow-covered childrens' playground, something red and white against the sky or water, scooters of these colours lined up. Fill the frame with as much of these colours as possible. Please no montages, just a great shot from a sharp-eyed photographer.

Humour appeals to me so well done for entering something light hearted. We need to make time for seeing the funny side of life, unless you are the one doing the hard work! Perhaps another person could have been serving the gentleman a cold drink?
