Reflections in Water in Black and White

I'm not usually a fan of infrared photography, but this image really stunned me. How impressive and eye-catching! The effect is mesmerising and it changed my opinion of ir photography. The scene surely would also look very good as a 'normal' image - but never as stunning as this.

Bonjour Tristesse - the English version! Very expressive image of a grey, misty morning. The composition is great and it couldn't be anything else than black and white - or better, plenty shades of grey. The perfect reflection of the bridge greatly enhances the overall mood and atmosphere of the image.

What a stunner! On first look I thought it was a knight's helmet, so clear and seamless is the reflection in the water. There were several images of the same building in the contest, but this impressed me most in it's stark simplicity. Very effective.

The contrast between the stillness of the bird's reflection and the action of the water splashing couldn't be more effective. Great shot at the right moment. and the perfect angle. Nature photography isn't easy and needs plenty of patience and quick reaction. Well done.

Symmetry in perfection - You almost have to take a second look to realise what it is. It is a wonderful shot and a great composition. The stillness of the water and grace and elegance of the swan make this my winner. Focused and compelling, nothing could fulfil the brief any better. Congratulations.
