The Queen Of Hearts is truly one of the most iconic images dating back to the 14th century. What an amazing idea. She is instantly recognisable and the image is right on brief. The colours are vibrant and imitate many of the images I have seen of this fictional character. Your choice of a red background draws the eye immediately to the central part of the image I love the sharpness on the eyes and the expertly applied makeup especially the little heart shape lips and the blue to the eyelids in stark contrast to the white face tone. Depicting an emotionally rather cross looking queen is also true to character. It would have been good to see details of the story behind the shot and any post processing used but a great image worthy on the 1st place I have awarded you.

I loved this image and it would have been in my top ten had I been able to recognise it instantly. Not being a football fan I had to ask my husband what he felt it depicted. Nevertheless I could rave about this shot for hours. Everything is so right - the emotion of the rivalry between the two teams is depicted so well with the background being rather stormy. The trident draws you eye to the facial expressions of the subjects which are suitably very serious. Colour, focus choice of subject all super. Very well done!

I believe Son of Man by Rene Magritte is the central element of this image and you have produces a very good replica which fits the brief. Your choice of subject is excellent, I recognised the image immediately but was not sure of the artist. In this context your title was very helpful because it enabled me to research the artist. The image is sharp and clear and the elements are well put together. The colours in the shot work well and the red drapes focus your attention on the main elements of the man, apple and the cloud silhouette. it would have been good if you had explained how you achieved this but still a exceptionally good image.

Yes I'm a Pink Floyd fan and yes I recognised the cover instantly. In my opinion it fits the brief perfectly. Composition is more or less identical to the original shot and you cows tail is in focus unlike the original. The DOF is great too just a little blurry on the horizon but the subject is sharp. The colours work well and the concept is just as intended by Storm Thorgerson simple and effective. After all the album did go gold with no title or no images of the band anywhere on the cover. What a really great idea you had to enter this image in my contest and worthy of a top ten position.

Come on - let your creative juices flow. Let's see your best interpretation of an iconic image. This could be an attempt to replicate an image like a shot of a famous person for example the "flying Skirt" image featuring Marilyn Monroe's or a spoof of an iconic image for example a Christine Keeler pose using a Barbie doll or even something like replicating an iconic album cover. However, whatever picture you decide to enter it must be instantly recognisable!
